IWGB statement on Supreme Court ruling on legal definition of a woman

We condemn the ruling made by the Supreme Court to consider a person's gender as something that is strictly defined at birth.

Transgender people are an integral part of the community that we're building, and this ruling stands as a clear attack on the protections offered to trans people through the Equality Act.

We will continue to fight for trans people against discriminatory hiring practices and transphobia in the workplace. Trans people have always been here, they will always be here, and they will always have a place in our union.
