IWGB on Government response to the Taylor Review

mié, 7 feb 2018, 9:54

The IWGB's General Secretary, Dr Jason Moyer-Lee, has sent an open letter to Business secretary Greg Clarke, heavily criticising the government's response to the Taylor Review. The letter says that: _"_Similar to the Taylor review itself, the announcement is big on grandiose claims, light on substance and contains a couple of good but modest proposals, as well as a couple of terrible ones. But more than anything else, it is an exercise in kicking the problem into the long grass. The Taylor Review was already a watered down version of what we needed to see to fix the problem and your announcement today is a watered down version of the watered down version. By the time you are done with all the further investigations, consultations and considerations you say you need to do before actually announcing substantive change, what’s left won’t be watered down, it will just be water. At that point you might as well give up"
