Who can join:

If you currently work for eCourier on a self-employed basis, or you were working for eCourier but left the company within the past ten weeks, you can join this group legal claim. You will need to be a member of the IWGB union and remain a member for the duration of the case too.

Background information:

In 2017, in response to a Tribunal claim, eCourier admitted that the courier bringing the claim had been unlawfully misclassified as an "independent contractor" when they were actually a worker and legally entitled to workers’ rights like holiday pay and pensions, and a guaranteed minimum wage after expenses. We believe that you are also being unlawfully denied these same rights.

We believe eCourier therefore owes you compensation for all the holiday pay they have failed to pay you.

The IWGB union is partnering with a major law firm, Leigh Day, for this claim. They are doing it on a ‘no win no fee’ basis, meaning if the claim is not successful you will not have to pay. If you are successful, Leigh Day will take 20% (plus VAT) of your settlement in order to cover their costs of running the claim. This is a really great arrangement that we are happy to offer our members.

It only takes a few minutes to get started. You don’t need to provide any documents now. Once you have filled in the form, we will assess your eligibility to make a claim and get in touch to confirm if you can proceed. If you are eligible, you will then be asked to provide more details and documents to the lawyers.

At this stage, it’s not possible to predict how long the claim will take, but it’s likely to be slow. Please be prepared to be patient and we will keep you updated with any changes.
