The branch AGM is on Thursday 14th July at 6.30pm. Below are links to the agenda and a motion. If you would like to submit a motion yourself or an amendment to this motion, the deadline to do so is Thursday 7th July.
The venue is The Gallery Cafe at St Margaret's House in Bethnal Green, right next door to the IWGB office. It's very close to Bethnal Green underground station.
It is important that you register for the AGM, please do so on the link above even if you intend to attend in person. You can also attend and fully engage in the AGM online but we would encourage as many as possible to attend in person, though we understand that with the spike in COVID cases some people may not feel comfortable doing that. If you are travelling from outside London and would like to stay with a member please get in touch.

So far we have 1 motion. The motion is a very important motion on our position on Haringey new model of delivery summit, proposed by myself, Suami, Mariam and Ben. The motion is here - Motion 1
A guide to the AGM is here - AGM Guide
We are providing light catering for attendees from the very good vegan café that is hosting us. We need to know the numbers for this so please confirm your attendance as soon as possible. There will be a social after the meeting in the café which will serve soft drinks, hot drinks and alcohol after the business has completed.
The IWGB Charity Workers Branch is also having their AGM in a different room in the same venue that evening so there should be a really good gathering afterwards. You are welcome to invite non-members to the AGM but only members can vote. Non-members will be required to register for the event and we need to know numbers in advance.
A really important aspect to the AGM is the election of officials in the branch. Please consider putting yourself forward for one or more of the roles. As an absolute minimum we have to elect a chair, secretary and treasurer to fulfil our legal obligations. Below is a full list of posts to be elected.
Current posts and their details are:
As I have previously announced, I will not be standing for re-election as chair so a new chair will be elected. So far one person, Suami Rocha, has put themselves forward for this role. The reason I am standing down is because it has been 3 years since we started the process of organising to form the union and I feel it's somebody else's turn now.
I've had a fantastic experience being the Chair and learned loads and met loads of ace people and would thoroughly recommend standing for a position to everyone. I'll make a proper report and share it at the AGM but suffice to say I am excited about the next 6 months for the branch and intend to continue to be very involved in campaigning, lobbying, organising and socialising.
I'm really looking forward to seeing you all at the AGM, whether online or in-person and renewing are campaigning energy and recommitting our solidarity.
Please check out the motion, register and consider putting yourself forward for a role!
