IWGB files complaint for discriminatory enforcement against minicabs by TFL and the Met
about 1 month ago
The IWGB is excited to announce two new positions for organising Deliveroo workers in London full time (37.5 hours per week) for one year (ideally to be renewed though depending on availability of funding). Pay is London Living Wage plus £1 per hour (currently £11.55 per hour) with good terms and conditions.
We have been organising Deliveroo workers since 2016, when we took part in protests over pay in London and took out an ongoing court case against Deliveroo. There is no bigger name in the food delivery section of the so-called “gig economy” but the company continues to deny drivers rights, meaning workers fend for themselves under poor pay and working conditions.
The roles will be part of a joint project between the IWGB union and the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) who is working in coordination with several other unions, to recruit, organise and grow the membership of Deliveroo Riders globally and improve pay and conditions of platform workers.
Anyone interested should send any queries or their CV and cover letter to [email protected] before 12pm on Friday 16th August.
Interviews will be held on Tuesday 27th August
